To have the cleanest and most pleasant restroom experience, it’s important to have several strategies for designing the appearance of the restroom, for maintaining its cleanliness, and for enhancing the experience.
Suggestions for keeping the restroom clean
One, make sure you have a regular cleaning schedule. There may be a certain routine that is
followed for deep cleanings, but there should also be frequent spot cleanings on a regular
basis.
It may also be helpful to have a cleaning checklist that includes a daily task of emptying trash cans, restocking paper products, sanitizing surfaces, and things like that.
It could even have a chart to show the date and time of the last time the bathroom was serviced, just to make sure it’s checked frequently. Post a small sign for the user to let management know if this bathroom needs attention so that we can make sure it’s always a pleasant experience.
Second, use high quality cleaning supplies. Use the right disinfectants to kill the germs and use the right equipment to clean.
Third, make sure there’s adequate ventilation with a fan. Maybe have an automatic air freshener, maybe have an air purifier in the room. And making sure there are clear signs to wash your hands frequently.
Also make sure there are other things such as:
- adequately sized trash cans that are frequently emptied.
- a nice table or a hook on the wall to hang a pocketbook or a jacket so that these
items don’t have to go on the floor. - a plant or something visually appealing like nice artwork to see in the bathroom.
Possibly have some music playing in the bathroom.
Make sure that there’s enough of a budget to keep the bathroom updated with fresh paint.
Suggestions for making the restroom look good
You can really add to the experience with high quality fixtures, having good faucets and highquality soap available.
You could have excellent light fixtures for good lighting, and other stylish aspects to the bathroom, such as some polished tiles or natural wood finishes to make the bathroom more visually appealing on the walls and the floors.
Finding a theme for the design, such as a minimalist theme or a coastal theme, or something to make the experience better.
Maybe some artwork on the wall, greenery or plants, and adequate mirrors for the people to see.

Have a great soap and great dispensers to use. As well as nice towels. Make sure everything’s compliant, family friendly and soundproof.
